Thanks for looking around my blog. If you are here, you are probably a School Counselor, Social Worker, Teacher or other educational specialist, looking for some Social Emotional Learning ideas. So, who the heck am I? And why do I do what I do? Well, these are the cliff notes on how I became what I like to call, a social emotional advocate.
I’m a former Teacher and School Counselor turned author and curriculum writer. I live in Germantown, TN, a suburb of Memphis (home of the blues and barbecue.) I have three fabulous kids and an amazing husband. Currently, we have 3 cats, two dogs, two mini lop bunnies and a dozen guineas on a mini farm. Yeah, we LOVE animals and nature.
I am passionate about all things Social-Emotional and advocating for kids. You can read my post about the benefits of SEL here.
My own struggles with anxiety and panic disorder have led me to work on myself by helping others. It is my belief that every child in every school should have access to high quality SEL resources on a regular basis.
I create SEL activities for schools with a focus on mindfulness, growth mindset, emotional regulation and self improvement. I am most known for my SEL brochures. Come say hello to me on Facebook and Instagram where I’m almost always working on a new project.
